The Heart of a Sheep

To be sheepish is to be meek

To be a sheep is to lack conviction and not think for oneself

To have heart is to have strength and steadfastness

Then what of the heart of a sheep?

Jekyll & Hyde in the chest of livestock

Ambling through fields

An internal battle rages

Unbeknownst to passers-by

But this sheep has no heart

Its heart is on my plate

With Bacon mash and gravy

And now it’s in my belly
